My other interests and non-academic pursuits include poetry and photography. In 2014 I completed a MA in English and Creating Writing with a focus in poetry, what was developed through my interest in contemporary forms of writing such as the LANGUAGE school of poetry, the Kootenay School of Writing, the San Francisco Renaissance, and electronic literature. In my poetry, specific my work during my masters degree, I attempt to reconcile the critical theory I had learned with emerging forms of writing, which resulted in my digital-based thesis.
I have performed my poetry in various settings from the Vancouver 125 festival to book launches. More information on my work can be found in the poetry tab.
My research into digital media and technologies also draws from my love of photography. My interest in photography began in high school and I was awarded a scholarship based on my senior photography. Since then I have attempted to take my Nikon DSLR with me as I travel for work around the world.
